HONOURS LIST
Joe Dymond-Williams AWARD
On 21st June 2008, Joe Dymond-Williams was viciously attacked in the centre of Bristol. Consequently, Joe suffered what would prove to be a fatal head injury and spent just over two weeks in a critical condition and coma in the hospital. Joe passed away on 8th July 2008 aged just 17.
Joe represented Ashton Boys from Mini Soccer through to Under 16s and was a shining example of all that is good about the game. Athletic, determined, and skillful, Joe played the right way and was loyal to his friends and teammates while also maintaining respect for the opposition in both victory and defeat.
At the time, in consultation with Joe’s family, the club decided that this award should be given each year to a player from the Under 16 age group who has demonstrated dedication to Ashton Football Club and the game as a whole.
We hope that this serves as a fitting tribute to the player and person that Joe was and that all of our players will aspire to follow the example Joe set during his long association with the club.

HONOURS LIST
Terry Hazel AWARD
In 1994 Terry Hazell began Ashton Boys, a football school that was held on Saturday mornings in Greville Smyth Park, across the road from Ashton Gate. Hundreds of children attended, many of whom progressed into higher levels of the game. Terry ran Ashton Boys for around 15 years, until it was handed off to the next group of people to maintain and develop. Since then, the club has developed much farther to the point of becoming the Ashton Football Club we know today: inclusive of all ages, genders, and abilities.
Sadly, in 2019, Terry passed away.
Without Terry Hazell and the work he put in to develop the club, the managers, coaches, and players who have spent time with the club, we would not be where we are today, with the community that has developed over the years.
In memory of Terry, the club will be awarding the Terry Hazell Award. This award is given to a manager or coach who has gone above and beyond to help others and to develop the community of Ashton FC, whether through supporting players or other volunteers.
It goes without saying that we, as a club, are proud of and grateful for all of our managers and coaches, and we believe they go ‘above and beyond’ every day.
